Jadon Sancho posts heartfelt response to scoring at Old Trafford

Jadon Sancho has posted a heartfelt response to scoring his first goal since September 15 during Manchester United’s home clash with Leeds United.

The 22-year-old came on in the second half after a dismal first hour from the Red Devils. They conceded a goal within the opening minute of the match before Raphael Varane turned the ball into his own net in the 48th minute.

Marcus Rashford headed home a comeback goal shortly after and the equaliser came from Sancho, who reacted emphatically to scoring for the first time in almost five months.

Sancho’s return to action

The Englishman took a break from first-team action throughout the World Cup and for a period after to work on both his physical and mental well-being. Erik ten Hag has been careful with rushing the attacker back into action, utilising him only as a substitute since his return to the squad.

Sancho’s contribution salvaged a point from the team’s lacklustre display and for that, he was awarded Player of the Match. It was his attacking threat that changed the game and made the Reds’ overall performance improve.

Post-match, he took to Twitter to say: “I can’t tell you how much I’ve missed this feeling!”
