Premier League clubs lead race to sign Jude Bellingham

Jude Bellingham is set to become one of the most sought-after midfielders in Europe this summer.

There has been reports linking the England international with a move to Old Trafford for years, but this summer he could leave Borussia Dortmund in a mega-money transfer.

According to The Athletic, Real Madrid are keen admirers of the player and have already held talks with his father over a potential move, with the 19-year-old seen as one of their priority targets.

The report still states that the Premier League is a bigger attraction for Bellingham. That will alert clubs like Liverpool, who have been strongly linked with a move for the 19-year-old, but it doesn’t look like they will be qualifying for the Champions League.

Missing out on a place in the Champions League would undoubtedly hamper Liverpool’s prospects of landing Bellingham ahead of next season.

Man City are another club that has been linked with a move for Bellingham, but they face an uncertain future now with 115 FFP charges hanging over their head.

All of this could prompt United to join the race for Bellingham’s signature.

The report adds that Real Madrid will continue to pursue Bellingham, although they are realistic that the package they could offer would be much lower than what could be offered by a Premier League like United.

Bellingham’s contract at Dortmund doesn’t expire until 2025.
