Sir Alex Ferguson feeling enthused by Manchester United under Erik ten Hag

You get the feeling at Old Trafford that something good is brewing under Erik ten Hag’s guidance as manager. Not only have results improved this season, but Manchester United are playing a far more attractive brand of football.

Marcus Rashford’s goal was the pick of the bunch in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace. It epitomised the type of attacking football Erik ten Hag wants his United side to play. One touch football, recycling possession to work openings, combination play and several players providing service when suitable. The Dutchman’s imprint was all of United’s winning goal.

It is being reported by the Daily Mail that the upturn in United’s fortunes has left legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson, 81, feeling enthused. It has been suggested that the Scot is now becoming a fixture at away games after spending recent years as a regular at Old Trafford.

That tells us Ferguson is encouraged by Ten Hag’s work to date.

Why wouldn’t he be when we have moved several steps forward in the past 6 months? United have gone from being the easiest team to play against in the Premier League to a genuine force in the space of six months.

Of course, it’s still early days and our objective for this season remains the same. To finish in the top four and win a trophy.

Ten Hag is on course to achieve that as United sit third in the Premier League. Not to forget we still have a chance at winning three different cup competitions.

We’re just enjoying the ride under Ten Hag wherever it takes us.
