Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is confident that he will be given a new contract.

The 32-year-old is out of contract in the summer and he has never hidden from the fact he is happy in Manchester and calls it his home.

It’s no wonder that De Gea feels at home since he’s been in Manchester for 12-years. Throughout that time, he has made 517 appearances for the club and will go down as one of our best ever goalkeepers.

Some United fans think United should search for a goalkeeper who is renowned for playing out from the back and someone that rushes off their line whenever needed. Other fans feel a degree of loyalty to the keeper because he has served the club so well down the years.

“We’re still talking,” De Gea said, as quoted by BBC Sport. “For sure it’s going to end in a good way.”

United have been linked with a number of goalkeepers in recent months. From Diogo Costa at FC Porto to Brighton’s David Raya, there appears to be no shortage of options if Erik ten Hag wanted to look for another shot-stopper.

But this sounds like De Gea is set to stay at United.
