Manchester United midfielder Charlie Savage has officially joined League One side Forest Green Rovers on loan until the end of the season.
Savage, 19, moves to Forest Green Rovers knowing they are in the middle of a relegation scrap. He will quickly learn that every game is going to be a dog-eat-dog battle and that should do him the world of good, as well as regular game time at first team level.
Everton hero Duncan Ferguson will be his manager, which I honestly see as the biggest pull factor to sending Savage to Forest Green Rovers. They are currently bottom of the third their and Ferguson was only recently appointed as Ian Burchnall’s replacement.
Speaking to FGR media, Savage said: “I’m buzzing to be here.
“As soon as I found out Forest green were interested, I just wanted to get down and get started. I love the sound of the club and I actually came down here last season for work experience under Rob Edwards. I know the people and the place really well.”
We would like to wish Savage the best of luck for the remainder of the season.
