Manchester United monitor Leipzig midfielder along with Brighton and Liverpool

Manchester United are interested in RB Leipzig’s Amadou Haidara.

According to the Independent, the Reds are along with Liverpool and Brighton and Hove Albion in monitoring the midfielder’s situation, with the latter having a bid rejected this month.

The two Northern clubs are more likely to pursue a deal at the end of the season, as Leipzig are unwilling to oversee his departure in the winter. The 24-year-old’s contract contains a clause that would allow him to exit in the summer, though United could face more stern competition if they wait.

Haidara is open to making the switch to Brighton but will not go as far as forcing the move or handing in a transfer request. The German side will be keen on him playing a key role in their title charge this season; they currently sit in second place in the Bundesliga and are just four points behind giants Bayern Munich.
