Manchester United midfielder Charlie Savage has agreed to join League One side Forest Green Rovers on loan until the end of the season.

Although the move has yet to be confirmed by the club, BBC Sport suggest it is close because Savage has agreed to go to Forest Green Rovers.

The move is set to open Savage’s eyes a little which can only do him good in his quest to gain experience as a first team footballer. Forest Green Rovers are struggling this season and are currently placed bottom of League One.

Coming to the attention of Wales manager Rob Page, however, could be the ultimate aim for Savage right now because he will be keeping his options open when it comes to the next step of his career.

Right now, though, Savage needs to focus on himself and developing his game. The 19-year-old is the son of former Wales international Robbie Savage and people are going to single him out for that.

Savage impressed us during the pre-season tour – sat in midfield alongside Zidane Iqbal – and we wish him the very best of luck at Forest Green Rovers.

We’ll keep an eye on Savage’s development there.
