Lisandro Martinez wants to bounce back instantly from Arsenal defeat

Lisandro Martinez is already looking ahead to Manchester United’s forthcoming matches in a bid to bounce back instantly from last night’s defeat.

The Red Devils oversaw an unfortunate 3-2 loss at the Emirates on Sunday after matching the Premier League leaders stride for stride until the closing minutes of the game. Marcus Rashford opened the scoring, marking his 17th goal of the season, and Lisandro Martinez registered his first goal as a United player and went on to celebrate in true ‘Licha’ style.

A loss is always a tough one to swallow, however, it was United’s first one since the World Cup break ended and until last Wednesday, the Reds had an all-perfect record.

League action is now paused and will resume on February 4 in a home match against Crystal Palace. United now have three cup fixtures on the horizon; the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest is at the City Ground on January 25, the FA Cup fourth round home tie against Reading is on January 28, and Old Trafford will then host the second leg of the semi-final against Forest on February 1.

The Argentinian centre-back stressed the importance of bouncing back from the Gunners loss. He told MUTV: “You don’t have time to be sad or to be disappointed. You have to train directly tomorrow, you have to change the page. We have to go for the next one.”
