Manchester United could try take advantage of Juventus points deduction

I don’t think anyone would be surprised to see European clubs circle Juventus over the next few months after the Serie A giants were handed a 15-point deduction by the FIGC.

The news broke this week and it comes as a result of their deliberate use of capital gains to influence their books.

For a club that aims to be in the Champions League every season, the 15-point deduction could prove to be a big problem.

It remains to be seen if the Bianconeri will appeal the decision, but it remains unclear if they will succeed. In turn, this could be an opportunity for clubs like United to benefit.

One man that could leave is Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic. At the age of 22, the former Fiorentina is still developing his game, but he recognised as one of the best young forwards in Europe right now.

TuttoMercatoWeb relays a report from 90Min, which claims Manchester United are interested in Vlahovic. It is also suggested that the Red Devils could make a move while Juve face an uncertain future.

It sounds like Vlahovic is being offered around Europe — presumably by agents — because they have had enough of the circus at Juventus.

SN verdict

Without Champions League football, Juventus will have a number of unhappy players.

Some may even demand to leave the club, while Paul Pogba can do whatever he likes as long as it doesn’t concern United. Turin is his home after all.

Vlahovic, however, could be the type of striker Ten Hag is after in the summer. He is certainly not a player I would be against signing.
