Manchester United make stance on Harry Maguire clear after West Ham approach

Manchester United have made their stance on Harry Maguire clear in January amid interest from a fellow Premier League side.

West Ham reportedly approached the Red Devils regarding the prospect of signing their club captain on loan until the end of the season.

Initially, it had been suggested that United would be open to allowing the 29-year-old leave on a short loan spell, however, Simon Stone of BBC Sport has since confirmed that this is not the case. In actual fact, the Reds gave the Irons a “short” answer – “No chance”.

Ten Hag backs Maguire to play ‘significant’ role

Erik ten Hag believes Maguire will play a key role throughout the second half of the campaign for United, seeing as the club remain in all three cup competitions and are setting their sights on a very high finish in the league.

A summer move may be more likely, but nothing is confirmed on that front, and things may change from now until the next transfer window.
