Despite leading for over 90 minutes, Man United only managed a draw away to Crystal Palace during Wednesday night’s Premier League clash at Selhurst Park.
The Red Devils got off to a good start with midfielder Bruno Fernandes opening the game’s scoring.
However, failing to double their advantage, a lacklustre United failed to keep their London-based opponents out with opposition midfielder Michael Olise firing in a superb free-kick one minute into extra time.
Speaking to the media after the game about taking just one point away from South London, Fernandes, as quoted by BBC Sport, said: “We knew it’s tough to play here. We could have lost the game. We’re not happy with a draw. We should have taken our chances and closed the game. They scored a great goal at the end. Nothing we can do now.

“We have to look forward now. Other games are coming. We’re still doing good things.”
United’s next match is set to be against league leaders Arsenal, and despite dropping points against Palace tonight, Fernandes, like all his teammates, will know that winning on the weekend will keep the Red Devils firmly in the running for this season’s title.
“We’re really disappointed with the result but the next one is close,” Fernandes added.
We have to prepare [for] the game [against Arsenal]. Not too much time to recover.”
United’s upcoming game against Mikel Arteta’s Gunners, which is set to be played at the Emirates, is scheduled for Sunday afternoon and will kick off at 4.30 p.m. (UK time).
