Man United star now expected to stay as Premier League club is priced out of transfer

Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka was completely out of favour during the first half of the season but that has changed now.

Diogo Dalot was suspended for United’s final game before the season was paused to accommodate the World Cup and it was telling that Erik ten Hag preferred to use Tyrell Malacia at right-back over Wan-Bissaka.

Dalot then sustained an untimely injury in Portugal’s final game at the World Cup, allowing Wan-Bissaka to stake a real claim in the side.

The 25-year-old has hardly put a foot wrong since club football was resumed and his performance against Manchester City earlier this weekend was arguably his best since he joined the club in 2019.

Earlier this season, it had been reported that Wan-Bissaka was one of the players United could be looking to sell in January but according to The Sun, that has now changed.

As per the report, United now look set to keep Wan-Bissaka after the defender’s impressive performances earned him a spot in the team.

Furthermore, Crystal Palace, from whom United signed Wan-Bissaka nearly four years ago, are fearing they could be priced out of a move if they pursue a deal.

It’s reported that United will now raise their price and the London club will be unable to meet those demands as well as his high wages.

SN’s verdict…
Ten Hag has stressed the importance of having options in every position on a number of occasions and it looked like right-back was one of the positions he lacked depth it.

Not anymore – Wan-Bissaka has completely resurrected his Old Trafford career and Dalot’s position is not as secure as it was two months ago.
