For the first time in a long time, Manchester United will feel confident they can get a good result against rivals Manchester City.
The Red Devils are set to welcome their noisy neighbours to Old Trafford for Saturday’s latest instalment of Premier League action.
Although Pep Guardiola’s Citizens can never be ruled out, United are arguably the team in better form.
Not only are the blue half of Manchester trailing Arsenal in the league table, but they recently suffered a shock 2-0 EFL Cup quarter-final defeat against rock-bottom Southampton.
United, on the other hand, are flying at the moment and eight wins on the bounce, in all competitions, has put the Red Devils in great shape to do what they haven’t managed in the Manchester derby in their last three attempts – win.

Speaking about the upcoming tie, that could see his team move just one point behind Guardiola’s men, Erik Ten Hag, who spoke to the media on Friday, as quoted by MEN, said: “I don’t look, and of course we notice, that they had a setback.
“I have seen the past weeks many games of them. But we have to look at ourselves, we have to play our best game.
“That is what I demand tomorrow from my players. Togetherness with full belief, not naive.”
Today’s Manchester derby, which is set to kick off at 12.30 p.m (UK time), will be broadcast live on BT Sport.
