Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek’s season has come to an end.
Erik ten Hag has confirmed Donny van de Beek will miss the remainder of the season as a result of the injury he sustained after a reckless tackle against Bournemouth.
The Dutch midfielder was a surprise starter in United’s 3-0 win over Bournemouth before he was hurt by Marco Senesi, who was lucky not to have been sent off.
Ten Hag has now confirmed that the knee injury Van de Beek picked up means he won’t play again this season.
“It is his knee,” Ten Hag said, as per The Independent. “In the long term it is looking really good and he will be back for the start of pre-season. The rest of the season he is out.”

Talk about rotten luck! The former Ajax midfielder has been unable to catch a break at United since joining the club in 2020, but he has had opportunities to prove himself.
Even when he joined Everton on loan last season, it ended in tears because an injury ruled him out for the remainder of that season, too.
One would question whether Van de Beek has a future at United.
That said, we are all wishing Van de Beek a speedy recovery.
