Manchester United set to resume contract talks with Alejandro Garnacho

Manchester United are ready to make progress on contract talks with Alejandro Garnacho, who has emerged from the academy to have an impressive impact in the first-team this season.

The talented 18-year-old is bound to attract interest all over Europe because it looks like he has a very bright future ahead of him. There has been rumours about Real Madrid and Liverpool showing an interest, which could be problematic if Garnacho decided to run down his current deal.

United fans will be pleased to hear Fabrizio Romano’s latest update on the matter as he suggests that the Red Devils are planning to resume contract talks with Garnacho in the near future future. He doesn’t clarify if it will be in the next few weeks or months, but he’s confident that it is among the club’s list of priorities.

Romano tweeted: “Manchester United will resume talks to extend Alejandro Garnacho’s contract in the next weeks and months. Negotiations have been ongoing for months as Man Utd want Garnacho to be happy with new long term deal and improved salary.”

It goes without saying that the youngster is in line for a bigger and better contract to commit his long-term future to Manchester United. Erik ten Hag will hope he can build a successful team around Garnacho and the early signs are encouraging.

He started the game against Wolves on Saturday but was replaced by Marcus Rashford at half-time.

Is Garnacho going to be the next superstar to emerge from United academy?

Garnacho is one of the most talented players to come out of the youth team in recent years, so we certainly have high hopes for him in the coming years.
