Jordan Pickford’s Everton career is in doubt because he has yet to sign a new deal at Goodison Park.
According to the Daily Mail, there is a delay at boardroom level and not with Jordan Pickford, who is happy to commit his future to Everton by signing a five-year deal.
It is understood that this has alerted clubs like Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea.
Everton fans will hope that interest from United doesn’t turn Pickford’s head – but that would be a tough ask for any player in the Toffees squad.
Pickford has 18 months to run on his current contract. Meanwhile, at Old Trafford, David de Gea’s deal could expire in the summer unless he is given an extension.
United will be in the market for a new goalkeeper if Erik ten Hag decides he wants a new number one and, if we can believe recent reports, it would be wise to prepare for lots of questionable speculation.
Frank Lampard will be keen to keep Pickford, who has made 214 appearances for Everton since his transfer in 2017.
