Gary Neville has lauded Marcus Rashford for his positive mentality after facing disappointment at the World Cup.
England reached the quarter-finals of the competition before bowing out after a 2-1 loss to France. Rashford scored three goals across the campaign and was undoubtedly one of the Three Lions’ best players in Qatar.
He lined up for the Red Devils last night in a Carabao Cup clash with Burnley at Old Trafford and delivered an exceptional solo run and finish in front of the adoring supporters.
At club level, the 25-year-old now has nine goals and three assists for the season so far and looks to have completely reignited his love of football after a difficult year on the pitch in the 2021/2022 campaign.
Neville on Rashford
Former United captain Neville gave his verdict on the forward in a post-match interview on Sky Sports.
He said: “You think about the World Cup and the impact it will have had on some of these teams. You’ve got Brazilians out there, some of the English lads out there, obviously with disappointment to be knocked out in the quarter-final games.
“He’s come back, looked like he’s happy, and it’s a good start from them, a good warm-up game to get back into the Premier League.”
The Reds’ first Premier League match since November 13 is on Tuesday, December 27 against Nottingham Forest.
