Manchester United planning to return to the US for 2023 pre-season tour

Manchester United have not visited the USA for a pre-season tour since 2018, but it sounds like they will be making a return in 2023.

Good news for Reds in America because the Manchester Evening News claims Manchester United are planning to return to the United States for their pre-season tour next year.

It made for an unhappy pre-season tour in 2018 when former manager Jose Mourinho sat at every press conference with a dour demeanour on his face because he didn’t think Ed Woodward was pulling his weight to get the targets the manager wanted.

Mourinho was right but it was also the beginning of the end as things were getting toxic for the man the press once called the Special One.

Despite that, there is always excitement when the Reds visit the United States and the players always tend to enjoy the trip.

Last time out in America, United played matches in Phoenix, San Jose, Los Angeles, Michigan and Miami.

Erik ten Hag’s first pre-season tour took place last year in Thailand and Australia. There was fewer games than usual due to the 2022/23 campaign starting earlier.
