Manchester United to make Marcus Rashford highest earner amid Real Madrid and PSG interest

Marcus Rashford could become Manchester United’s highest earner at the club amid interest from two European giants.

His current deal is set to expire at the end of the season, however, the Red Devils will activate the clause to keep him at the club for an additional year. This means that foreign clubs are not allowed to negotiate with him in the new year.

Daily Star has reported that Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have ramped up their interest in the England international, who is on the back of some exceptional performances at the World Cup.

Rashford has doubts regarding his future at Old Trafford and has turned down a £300,000 a week contract that has been tabled by United.

Rashford would top the list of highest earners

The board are now preparing an increased offer of an eye-watering £400,000 a week to try and tie down his future in Manchester. Cristiano Ronaldo, who left United through a mutual agreement last month, was earning £500,000 a week, which made David de Gea the current highest earner on a weekly wage of £375,000.

The academy graduate may now leapfrog De Gea into the top spot on the wage bill if a deal is agreed upon between himself and the Reds.
