Benfica were rubbing their hands together during the World Cup as striker Goncalo Ramos netted a hat-trick against Switzerland after replacing Cristiano Ronaldo in the Portugal line-up.

We already know that Manchester United have previously sent scouts to watch Ramos, but he will replace Ronaldo at Old Trafford like he did in the Portugal team?

Erik ten Hag has confirmed that United are planning to replace Ronaldo in January if the right player is available.

According to The Telegraph, Ramos has been added to Ten Hag’s transfer shortlist alongside PSV Eindhoven and Netherlands star Cody Gakpo.

The Daily Express claims that the Portugal international was valued at £25 million before the World Cup, but his price tag has increased to upward of £70 million.

Gakpo is another player who had a terrific World Cup which leads me to think that United will test the water with both clubs (Benfica and PSV) to check which player they can get for less money.

Let us know in the comments section if you would like United to sign Ramos or Gakpo.
