Manchester United Women have enjoyed a good start to the season and Marc Skinner’s side was in action again on Sunday afternoon in a mouthwatering fixture against local rivals Manchester City.
Sitting second in the table ahead of the game, United had the chance to equal Chelsea’s tally of 24 points at the summit of the league table but missed out after the points were shared in Manchester.
United did, however, claim the advantage roughly halfway through the first half, with winger Leah Galton extending her stellar hot streak this season with yet another wonderful strike, as seen below.

The goal is Galton’s fourth of the season, which means she has now been directly involved in seven goals in just nine appearances for the Reds.
Playmaker Ella Toone claimed the assist – her fifth of the season. The 23-year-old has now been directly involved in eight goals in nine games.
Manchester City did eventually equalise through Laura Coombs but the hosts did not complete the turnaround, with United keeping their three-point advantage over their rivals.
