(Video) Diogo Dalot assists in back-to-back games for Portugal

Manchester United players are running the show for Portugal on Tuesday evening as Fernando Santos’ men have all but secured their passage to the next round of the World Cup.

Faced with the task of eliminating Switzerland, Portugal now have one foot in the quarter-final after claiming a three-goal lead, with two United players at the forefront of it.

In the first half, Bruno Fernandes’ perfect corner was met by veteran defender Pepe to claim a two-goal lead and Portugal have now added to their advantage.

Diogo Dalot was a surprise inclusion in the line-up, with Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo dropping to the bench, and the young Red has repaid his manager by assisting his side’s third goal, as seen below.

Dalot beat his man before drilling the cross toward the near post and Goncalo Ramos was there to steer the ball into the net – his second of the game. Dalot’s assist is also his second in as many games, having also done so in the 2-1 loss to South Korea last week.

Unless the very unlikely event of Switzerland turning this around, Portugal will face Morocco in the quarter-final.
