Manchester United trio set to return from injury

Three Manchester United players are set to return from injury ahead of the Premier League restart.

Axel Tuanzebe has continued his rehabilitation at the club’s Carrington training complex during the World Cup, as per the Manchester Evening News.

The 25-year-old has been out of action since Erik ten Hag arrived in the summer, so he hasn’t been able to impress the new manager after two failed two spells last season at Aston Villa and Napoli.

Another player in line to return from a knee injury is Tom Heaton. The goalkeeper could travel to Spain next week for United’s warm-weather training camp along with David de Gea and Martin Dubravka.

And, finally, Brandon Williams is expected to travel to Spain with the rest of the United squad. The full-back has been sidelined since July and could offer cover for Diogo Dalot at right back. There is no denying that he is closer to Ten Hag’s profile of a full-back than Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

United’s first game back is against Burnley in the League Cup on December 21.

It remains to be seen which United players will go all the way at the World Cup because anyone playing in final will miss the cup game. Hopefully those that didn’t go to Qatar will be fresh and ready for the Premier League to restart.

That’s why it is good news to hear that players are returning from injury. I’m not saying that any of them will start – but it helps when the manager has more options to select from.
