Former Manchester United midfielder Eric Djemba-Djemba claims Marcus Rashford is now England’s key player ahead of captain Harry Kane.

Gareth Southgate has been told that Marcus Rashford is his main man at the World Cup — not Harry Kane.

England breezed through the knockout stages at the World Cup by securing seven points from their three games. Rashford has three goals to his name despite being on the bench for the first two games.

A few of their players have made a positive impact, but no-one has done more so than Rashford.

Speaking to NewCasinoUK, Djemba-Djemba said: “Rashford was fantastic last night. He is an amazing player in great form and he. is the key to success at The World Cup – I think Kane looks a bit tired, but Marcus is scoring goals and clearly loving his football. I think he is the key player for England and has to start for them. Then we have to hope he will continue in the same form for United when he is back from the World Cup, as will be the key to United getting a place in the Top 4. He will be the key man for United this season.”
