Manchester United draw Everton in FA Cup third round

Forget the World Cup for a moment. The FA Cup third round draw is complete and Manchester United have a home tie against Everton to look forward to.

Manchester United are looking to end a five-year wait for a trophy this season and we’ve won the FA Cup a staggering 12 times in the past. The most recent triumph came in 2016 when Jesse Lingard scored a winner in extra-time against Crystal Palace.

Sixty-six teams were in the hat, with two replays set for next week – Charlton Athletic vs Stockport County, and Dagenham & Redbridge vs Gillingham.

It isn’t a tie that will please United’s travelling support because fans tend to enjoy visiting new stadiums when forming cup runs, especially against teams in the lower divisions.

At least we’ll have home advantage and a change to knock Frank Lampard’s side out of the FA Cup…

FA Cup third round draw

The third-round games are to take place around the weekend of 7/8 January 2023.
