Harry Maguire earns 50th cap for England against USA

As expected, Gareth Southgate has named an unchanged England XI from their opening game when they beat Iran 6-2 to start their World Cup campaign with a win.

Tonight the Three Lions face the United States, who drew their first game 1-1 against an awful Wales team, and the game as many underlying narratives ahead of what is set to be a fascinating tactical battle.

It will be their third meeting at a World Cup – with all matches to date taking place in the group phase, with England yet to take three points against tonight’s opponents. USA provided a shock 1-0 win in 1950 and the two teams drew 1-1 in 2010.
