Jadon Sancho determined to get back in England squad

Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho is in the spotlight at the moment.

Following the rise of Alejandro Garnacho at Manchester United, there are questions over whether Jadon Sancho could lose his place in the team this season.

On top of that, the England international missed out on a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s squad for the World Cup, which has brought further disappointment his way.

Sancho has also decided to delete all of his social media activity in a bid to focus on his football and private life.

So, how does a 22-year-old with 23 international caps to his name respond after failing to make the World Cup squad?

Sancho has been training at OJC Rosmalen in the Netherlands during the World Cup and reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on the winger.

Writing for Caught Offside, Romano claims the former Borussia Dortmund star is disappointed about the World Cup but now plans to get back to his best form for United.

“It’s normal not to be happy, not just Sancho but many players left out by their national team,” Romano said.

“He’s determined to work hard, be back at top level and be part of England future in the next months and years.”

Sancho is based in the Netherlands to work with Dutch coaches recommended by Erik ten Hag to keep fit and refocus.

Of course we can understand Sancho’s disappointment, though he needs to focus on his United career first and foremost. If he doesn’t play well for United he can forget about playing for England.

The response, however, should be admired. I hope Garnacho is using the break to work hard on his development too.
