Manchester United starlet Alejandro Garnacho names favourite position

Manchester United starlet Alejandro Garnacho claims he enjoys playing on the left wing when asked about his favourite position.

With four goal contributions to his name from the last four senior appearances, the 18-year-old is taking Old Trafford by storm this season and looks like the next talent we will get to see blossom on the biggest stage.

Garnacho’s first senior goal came in the Europa League win over Real Sociedad before he went on to assist two goals against Aston Villa in the League Cup. Last time out, he came off the bench at the end to score a dramatic winner against Fulham in the Premier League, so this is a young lad taking his chances at United.

Anything seems possible when he cuts in from the left flank – but as a youngster he may need to learn to take his opportunities elsewhere in the team, depending on Ten Hag’s selection.

“I’ve always liked to play out wide on the left, as a right-footed player able to cut inside,” he told club media“To be able to play as a right-footed player down the left, you also have to be pretty decent with your weaker foot. From an early age, I’ve always practiced hard using both feet, because that makes you into a much better player and so nowadays I can play with both feet – not to perfection but to a good standard.

“Thankfully I was able to score those two goals with my other foot without too much difficulty.”

Garnacho has not gone to the World Cup so he should be in good shape when everyone returns for domestic action. United have Burnley in the cup and I wouldn’t be surprised to see the youngster start on the left, even if that means ahead of Jadon Sancho.
