Fiorentina willing to pay Cristiano Ronaldo whatever he wants to return to Italy

Fiorentina are interested in signing Cristiano Ronaldo, with the forward set to be sacked by Manchester United following his recent interview.

The two-part “explosive” special with Piers Morgan saw the forward detail his lack of respect for Erik ten Hag, the Glazers and his former teammates.

It has since been reported that the club have begun the legal process of terminating Ronaldo’s contract, essentially sacking him without any further payout.

Since he is set to depart Manchester in January, speculation has started on where the five-time Ballon d’Or winner will end up, having already competed in Portugal, England, Spain and Italy’s top divisions.

It looks as though a return to Serie A may be on the cards, with Fiorentina emerging as ‘surprise’ candidates for Ronaldo’s signature.

That is according to Calciomercatoweb, who have confirmed the club’s owner, Rocco B. Commisso, is willing to pay the Portugal captain “whatever he wants”.

How likely is the move?

Currently, Ronaldo will not be negotiating with potential suitors as he has set his sights on lifting the lucrative World Cup trophy in his final chance in the competition.

However, the Italian side are an unlikely destination given their lack of European football.
