Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans has been linked with a move to a number of Premier League clubs in recent years, but he could be set to stay at the King Power Stadium.

The Belgium international was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United prior to his transfer from AS Monaco to Leicester City in 2019. Sky Sports claimed at the time that Tielemans refused to wait for a move to Old Trafford and instead opted to link up with Brendan Rodgers at Leicester City.

While there has been links between United and Tielemans in recent months, Arsenal are another Premier League club guilty of being linked without ever making a formal offer for the midfielder.

Many pundits were led to believe that the Belgian was running down his contract in order to secure a free transfer when his contract expires in the summer.

According to Sportsmail, Leicester are hopeful of agreeing a new contract with Tielemans.

A new deal has been on the table for almost two years, although sources claim the Leicester hierarchy are confident that an agreement will be reached before it’s too late.

  1. Yes indeed if he goes to MU on a free transfer. He is much better than MacFred so to speak. MU should jump for him.
