Erik ten Hag looked ecstatic to see academy graduate Alejandro Garnacho seal the win against Fulham on Sunday.
In Manchester United’s final match before the World Cup, two United players opened their Premier League goal bank, Christian Eriksen and Garnacho.
The Dane opened the scoring in the first half with a tap-in before Fulham equalised through former Red Daniel James in the second half.
It then became a cagey affair as the London side sensed they could get more than a point from the match, whereas the Red Devils rued their missed chances in the first 45 minutes, which would have put the game to bed.
Cometh the hour, cometh the man
In the closing stages, the majority of supporters had settled on the result being a deflating 1-1 draw, that was until Garnacho stepped in. Take a look at his finish below and the delighted reaction from Ten Hag:
