David de Gea is facing a hefty wage cut, according to reports.
The Spanish goalkeeper will be out of contract at the end of the season, although Manchester United have the option to extend his current deal by a further year.
And the Daily Star claims De Gea will be offered a deal significantly less than the £375,000-per-week he is currently earning. That makes him not only one of the highest earners at the club, but he is also the highest paid keeper in the world.
The report adds that United want to slash De Gea’s weekly wages by at least £100,000, however, talks about his future have yet to take place.

It is believed that De Gea is keen to stay at United for many years to come.
De Gea performing under Ten Hag
A lot of questions have been asked of De Gea’s overall game, especially under Ten Hag, a manager who demands his keepers to come off their line and contribute to build-up play.
Everyone can see that he has took on board the manager’s advice and he could even getter better between now and the end of the season, though I think Ten Hag would prefer a keeper renowned for his ball playing ability in the long-term.
It will likely depend on whether De Gea is happy to fight for his place when a new keeper joins, or whether Dean Henderson returns to one fight shot at becoming first choice at Old Trafford.
