Manchester United legend lauds Garnacho and offers advice to youngster

Former Manchester United and England winger Gordon Hill took time to tweet about Alejandro Garnacho after the youngster’s impressive performance against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup.

The young didn’t get a call up to the Argentina squad for the World Cup but he’s got plenty of years to worry about major international tournament. And, after an exciting cameo in Thursday’s 4-2 win over Aston Villa, he deserves high praise.

Hill — nicknamed “Merlin” from his time at Millwall — went on to win the FA Cup with Manchester United in 1977. He also managed to score over fifty times for the Red Devils and his views on the club always carry weight.

That is why it was interesting to read what he thinks about Garnacho after watching the youngster break into the first team under Erik ten Hag this season.

Hill not only praised Garnacho, but offered the young winger some advice on not falling every time  he is tackled. He tweeted: “I like the young Argentinian. Loves to take players on and at 18 is a good prospect. If he matures he will be a great asset for the club and his country, he must learn to not fall everytime he is tackled, but like what I see.”

Now that he is getting praise from club legends, Garnacho needs to continue working hard to earn a place in the team. The sky is the limit for him and Ten Hag will be looking to make the most out of his talents for the rest of the season.
