Manchester United have confirmed that Ella Toone has signed a contract extension, keeping her at the football club until 2026.
Toone joined United in 2018 and has gone on to become the club’s all-time leading scorer in the women’s team with 43 goals in 110 appearances.
She was part of England’s European Championship-winning side this summer, scoring the opening goal in a 2-1 final win over Germany at Wembley.
In front of 90,000 fans, Toone chipped the goalkeeper with a wonderful finish that won’t be forgotten and she’s just as important to the current United team.
After putting pen to paper on a new contract at United, Toone told club media via ManUtd.com: “I’m delighted to sign a new contract at Manchester United. The club’s ambitions really match mine and there’s nowhere better for me to learn. To play for my childhood club I support is really special and I’ll never get tired of pulling on the Red shirt. To now be able to do that for even longer is a proud moment for me and my family.”
Home ❤️ Looking forward to many more years here!! https://t.co/8QgI5wyQKD

Manager Marc Skinner is over the moon with the news. He knows that keeping players like Toone at the club can only help the women’s team achieve their objective by qualifying for the Champions League.
Skinner said: “Ella’s long-term commitment to Manchester United is yet more proof of the club’s continued investment in the future success of this team,” he said. “Ella has always been and remains a key member of our squad on and off the field, and we are delighted she will continue to wear our famous colours with pride for years to come.”
United are currently positioned third in the WSL with a game-in-hand on second placed Chelsea, who have three points more than the Reds. Arsenal are leading the table but have the same amount of points as their blue rivals.
