Manchester United are set to say goodbye to another member of its hierarchy as changes continue to happen behind-the-scenes at Old Trafford.
Alan Dawson MBE has served as director of football operations since September 2017, having initially joined the club five years prior after spending 17 years in the Royal Air Force.
According to The Athletic, Dawson is set to leave the Old Trafford club upon completing work on an unspecified special project, although final confirmation for his department is still pending.
These things can take a while to sort and it could be the case that United want to announce Dawson’s departure along with a replacement.
Dawson has dealt with travel, security, logistics and training ground operations. It’s an important role that will need to be filled again in the near future, though it also includes the responsibility of dealing with the Glazer family.
Should Dawson leave United as reported, he will join Matt Judge and Helen Tseayo by doing so, as the hierarchy begins to take a new look under Richard Arnold.
More when we have it.
