Manchester United Women fell to their first WSL defeat of the season on Sunday evening, when Chelsea took three points against Marc Skinner’s side in a 3-1 defeat at Leigh Sports Village.
Sam Kerr opened the scoring before providing Lauren James just after the hour mark.
Alessia Russo gave the Reds a lifeline as the match entered the closing stages, finishing from an Ella Toone assist, but Erin Cuthbert went on to seal the win for the Blues.
