Manchester United were trailing by two goals after eleven minutes against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.
It was the worst possible start to our visit to Villa Park for a game many of us were expecting to win quite comfortably, only to find ourselves 2-0 down within the opening 11 minutes.
Villa had that new manager bounce under Unai Emery as his side were ahead after 7 minutes thanks to Leon Bailey before Lucas Digne scored a free-kick four minutes later.
United were making hard work for another winnable game – like they did earlier this season after Brentford. They were slow from the off and looked second best in every department. Not even a goal before half-time — to make it 2-1 — could wake them up.
Here’s what United fans have been saying on Twitter about the disappointing result and performance:
Game Over already…..absolute disgrace #MUFC

Dreadful. Praying for Martial to regain proper fitness soon and for Antony to come back. As bad as we were defensively, did fuck all going forward. Our only goal was jammy as fuck. Awful day.

Results like this happen in football. Don’t fall into the negativity trap that will pull its head out from behind the rock.
Naturally, it's disappointing, but perspective is required. I hope people can now appreciate the benefit Bruno brings to the overall team. #MUFC

Ten Hag's substitutions made no sense today. He took off Shaw and Garnacho who had been two of United's most threatening players and replaced them with Malacia ad Elanga, who are inferior players and unsurprisingly offered absolutely nothing #MUFC
