Fabrizio Romano confirms Man United will seek January loan for winger

Manchester United are not expected to be busy in the January transfer window on the incomings front but several players have uncertain futures at Old Trafford and could leave the club.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s increasingly uncertain future is the most high-profile case but other players are experiencing similar frustrations to the Portuguese forward.

Facundo Pellistri, the young winger, is one of those players as he is still yet to make his senior debut for the side despite joining over two years ago.

Speaking earlier this week, the Uruguayan’s agent admitted that an exit from Old Trafford is inevitable if he performs well at this winter’s World Cup.

Now, journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has echoed that and claimed that United will look to broker a loan for Pellistri in January.

As per the report, Pellistri has attracted interest from other countries and leagues and the 20-year-old is reportedly open to a potential move.

SN’s verdict…
Erik ten Hag has spoken highly of Pellistri when questioned but that has not resulted in a senior appearance yet. Similarly, the Dutchman was singing Alejandro Garnacho’s praises during pre-season but the Argentine had to wait until last week to make his first start.

Whether Pellistri’s continued wait for minutes is down to something unrelated to football remains to be seen but his good standing with the Uruguay national team certainly bodes well.

Pellistri is expected to be part of their final World Cup squad and hopefully he impresses enough to seal a good loan move.
