(Video) Bruno Fernandes gives verdict on Garnacho’s performance and change in attitude

Bruno Fernandes has reflected on Alejandro Garnacho’s performance as well as hinted at why it took so long for him to feature in the first team.

Garnacho netted his first senior goal tonight just one week after making his full debut for Manchester United.

The 18-year-old was assisted by his favourite player Cristiano Ronaldo, who he refers to as the “goat”, and reacted by copying the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s latest celebration.

The goal was, unfortunately, not enough for United to see out the group stage as Group E winners, meaning they will be forced to partake in the Round of 16 play-off stage against a demoted Champions League side.

United will find out their opponents on Monday, November 7.

Post-match, Fernandes gave his verdict on his teammate. He told BT Sport: “He was good but he knows that we expect a lot from him, obviously he’s still really young, he’s doing really well.

“At the beginning of the season, he was not at his best, on the tour he did not have the best attitude that he should have, and that’s why he didn’t get his chances until now.

“He’s getting his chances because he’s training well and he has a different attitude and he’s deserving his chances.”
