Erik ten Hag inherited a broken Manchester United squad when he replaced Ralf Rangnick at the end of last season and the Dutchman oversaw a sizeable overhaul in his first summer transfer window.
Several first-team regulars were shown the door and six players were signed in what turned out to be a record-breaking window for the Old Trafford club.
A late flurry in the market saw Brazilian duo Casemiro and Antony join, with Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka also arriving on a season-long loan.
Nearly all of Ten Hag’s signings have made a big impact during the first three months of the season but with the January transfer window coming up, there are already rumours surrounding additional business.
Now, it has been revealed that United are not actively pursuing any signings for the mid-season market. That’s according to the Manchester Evening News, who say that the club will instead focus on other areas.

As per the report, the club is prepared to wait until next summer to initiate phase two of their rebuild, with a goalscorer believed to be high on Ten Hag’s wishlist.
Furthermore, despite Diogo Dalot’s stellar development under the Dutchman this season, adding a right-back to the squad is also on the agenda next summer.
This winter, instead of focusing on bringing new players in, it’s believed that United will focus their attention on contract renewals and extensions.
There are a number of first-team players who are out of contract at the end of this season and Ten Hag will not want to lose all of them for nothing.
Marcus Rashford, who has arguably been United’s best player this season, is one of those players. David de Gea and Dalot are also approaching the final six months of their deals.
