Manchester United have secured three massive points at Old Trafford as Marcus Rashford’s first-half header makes sure Erik ten Hag’s men get back to winning ways in the Premier League.

The Dutchman was dealt a couple of blows prior to the game, with Victor Lindelof and Antony both absent due to illness and injury respectively.

Nevertheless, the Reds came out on top in a cagey affair and there were a couple of standout performers at Old Trafford, with Harry Maguire and David de Gea among those to shine.

Man United Player Ratings

David de Gea – 10
You can’t really ask for more from your goalkeeper. West Ham were pushing for an equaliser late in the game and De Gea made several world-class saves to ensure a third consecutive clean sheet at home.

Diogo Dalot – 8
Yet another dominant performance from Dalot. Especially impressive was his ability to guard the back post during crosses.

Harry Maguire – 8
His performances are being examined carefully and that outing will have delighted Ten Hag. Second half was especially dominant.

Lisandro Martinez – 9
Continues to be one of United’s most important players and at this point, you could argue that he has been the best player this season.

Luke Shaw – 8
Good reaction to being dropped for Tyrell Malacia, another encouraging performance.

Casemiro – 7
A bit of a comedown from his colossal showing at Chelsea but got the job done when needed.

Christian Eriksen – 7
Provided the assist for Rashford’s winner but was uncharacteristically sloppy with his passing throughout.

Bruno Fernandes – 7
He’ll never stop running for the team.

Anthony Elanga – 6
First start in a long time for the young Swede and you could tell that he was a bit rusty.

Marcus Rashford – 9
Second headed goal in as many games now and he’s now scored 100 for the club. Good performance again.

Cristiano Ronaldo – 6
Dropped deep to receive the ball too much, which flooded areas United would have liked to keep spacious. As a result, there was nobody in the box for crosses.
