(Photo) Raphael Varane shares positive update after picking up injury ahead of World Cup

Raphael Varane is hoping to recover from a hamstring injury in time for the World Cup.

Manchester United and France held their breath when Varane went down injured at Stamford Bridge last weekend.

Unfortunately for the Red Devils, it means he will be out of action for the upcoming games, but there is a chance he could be fit to take part in Qatar.

France manager Didier Deschamps stressed that he would not take injured players to the tournament, which will worry players like Varane and Paul Pogba at Juventus.

Varane has posted a pretty positive update on social media – breaking his silence since sustaining the injury against Chelsea. It includes pictures and videos of the centre-back training in the gym to show he is preparing for a return in time for Qatar.

In a message to his fans and United team-mates, who take on West Ham this evening, Varane wrote: “Thank you everyone for the kind messages this week. I have been working! Feeling good. Good luck today boys!”

We are all wishing Varane a speedy return but hopefully he doesn’t go away to the World Cup only to sustain another injury. United need him for the second half of the season.
