Marcus Rashford has given insight into the team spirit in the dressing room at Manchester United this season.

United had a poor start to the season under Erik ten Hag; a 2-1 loss to Brighton and Hove Albion on opening day and a 4-0 loss to Brentford on their first away day.

However, several line-up changes from Ten Hag resulted in four consecutive league wins including a triumphant 2-1 victory over rivals Liverpool and top-of-the-table Arsenal. The Reds did fall victim to a 6-3 loss at the Etihad earlier this month but have since been unbeaten in seven games in all competitions.

The feeling at Old Trafford is significantly more optimistic than it has been in recent years. Ten Hag and his style of play, no-nonsense policies and eye for talent in the summer window have restored the faith in the Red Devils’ loyal supporters. The Dutchman is a figure that fans will back, as well as players.

Rashford in fine form under Ten Hag

Rashford is one player who has picked up form under the new coach.

Only three months into the season he has outdone his goal contributions from the whole of last year, having scored six and assisted three in all competitions.

Rashford looks more confident on the ball and looks to be Ten Hag’s first choice up front.

The 24-year-old reflected on life at the club currently. He told PA Media: “We’ve had some new signings come in the summer and we’ve just managed to make it work and build that team spirit as quickly as we did.

“I feel like the players have integrated well and we’re learning about each other more and more. But, yeah, definitely, the team spirit is very high and we want that to keep going.

“Good performances help but even in the bad times we are going to stick together.”
