Manchester United star Marcus Rashford scored his 99th goal for the club on Thursday night against FC Sheriff in the Europa League. It was his sixth goal of the season.
Rashford will join an exclusive club by scoring his next goal for the club, hopefully against West Ham on Sunday, when United look to stretch their unbeaten run to eight games.
Once he gets the 100th goal out of the way, Rashford should be setting an objective to more than double that tally over the coming seasons. Especially now that is back showing top form and playing with confidence
But 99 goals for United at 24-years-old is an amazing record. By the time Rashford is finished he could have 250 goals for the club.
Rashford is back to his best under Erik ten Hag following a dismal season last year – but he wasn’t the only player to underperform.
Wayne Rooney is the club’s highest goalscorer with 253 goals, but I don’t see why Rashford should be put off by that. Cristiano Ronaldo ranks joint 13th with 145 goals.
On top of Rashford’s 99 goals, he provided a further 61 assists in 317 matches for the club.
Here’s to many more!
