We can expect Manchester United to be linked with a ton of strikers now that Cristiano Ronaldo’s future is up in the air.
In truth, it was always going to be the case this year with the 37-year-old entering the final year of his contract. On top of that we knew before a ball was kicked this season that his desire was to leave Old Trafford.
Fresh report state Manchester United have been joined by Tottenham Horspur in the apparent race to sign AS Roma striker and England international Tammy Abraham.
According to Calciomercato, Abraham is on United’s radar as a possible replacement for Ronaldo, while Tottenham are also keeping tabs on the 25-year-old.
Abraham set Serie A alight last season after leaving Chelsea for Roma, but he has struggled to replicate that form. An incredible 27-goal tally saw the striker break a club record for most goals scored by a player in their debut season. He has only managed two goals in 14 appearances this term.
You can’t rely on Anthony Martial
Anthony Martial has been brilliant this season – when fit – but Ten Hag can’t rely on him long-term.
The French striker is returning from injury again but for how long? I’ll keep my fingers crossed that he can stay fit for the remainder of the season, but I won’t be holding my breathe.
United’s reason for needing a new centre-forward doesn’t sit solely on Ronaldo.
Lack went into the current campaign knowing they would be limited in attack most weeks, but Rome wasn’t built in a day and Ten Hag needs time to make the right decisions. We know he’ll some get some wrong too!
Let us know in the comments section if you think Abraham is the missing piece to Ten Hag’s attack.
