Manchester United are looking to “find a solution” for out-of-favour defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The 24-year-old has spent only four minutes on the pitch this season after falling down the ranks in Erik ten Hag’s favour since his arrival. Diogo Dalot has cemented his place in United’s starting eleven and looks set to be the first choice in the position for the foreseeable future.
Whilst Wan-Bissaka is exceptional at tackling and is capable defensively, Dalot simply offers more on the attack, which was always an area that the Englishman needed to improve. Dalot’s threat moving forward and attacking abilities suits Ten Hag’s style of play.
Fabrizio Romano reported on his ‘Here We Go’ podcast: “Manchester United are trying to find a solution for Aaron Wan-Bissaka in January so they can sign a new right-back.”
He also confirmed United’s interest in Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong.
Where will Wan-Bissaka end up?
Sources close to Stretty News understand Crystal Palace were interested in the defender in the summer and remain adamant on overseeing a deal. Wan-Bissaka began his career at Palace and was a starter at the team before making the move to United.
It is likely a matter of whether or not the two clubs can agree a deal that Palace agree with. The player’s family are also actively trying to facilitate the move to Patrick Viera’s side so Wan-Bissaka can return to London.
