Mason Greenwood to appear in court after being charged with three crimes

Mason Greenwood has been suspended by Manchester United since January this year after the forward was arrested by police on suspicion of rape and threats to kill. Greenwood was released on bail later and has not featured for the Reds since.

Now, roughly nine months since the incident became a public topic, Greenwood has been charged with three crimes.

That’s according to the BBC, who say that Greenwood has been charged with attempted rape, engaging in controlling behaviour and assault.

The 21-year-old is set to make an appearance in court in just two days, with his case set to be heard at the Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

According to prosecutors, all of the crimes Greenwood has been charged with are related to the same complaint.

Greenwood is still listed on the official Manchester United website as one of the senior players but it remains to be seen how the Old Trafford club responds to these charges.
