Eric Bailly, who is currently spending the season on loan at Ligue 1 side Marseille, has named two teammates that ‘blew him away’ during his time in Manchester.

The Frenchman has been a Red since 2016 but he failed to secure regular game time due to injury struggles. With United now having depth in the centre-back position, a loan move seemed the most suitable option for both the player and the club.

When questioned about his teammates back in England, he told L’Equipe: “I knew a lot of great players in Manchester. But if I have to talk about everyone who impressed me, we’re never going to finish this interview! There was incredible talent, both old and young. Someone like Marcus Rashford really blew me away. Anthony Martial too.”

United duo showing promising signs for season ahead:

Rashford was recently awarded Premier League Player of the Month for September. He contributed two goals and two assists, with both goals coming against league leaders Arsenal in a 3-1 win that ended the Gunners five-game unbeaten run.

The Englishman also was the key to overturning United’s deficit when facing Omonia in last week’s Europa League match. The Reds looked deflated until Rashford was substituted on at half-time and netted an equaliser after only eight minutes on the pitch, before bagging another goal in the 84th minute.

Martial has looked promising in the short cameos he’s made this season; in only 104 Premier League minutes, he has racked up two goals and two assists, as well as scoring in the Europa League.

With Erik ten Hag opting to start the 26-year-old against Everton, before he was substituted with injury, it shows the Dutchman is aiming to utilise Martial as United’s main man upfront this season.

Once fit, Martial could hit prolific form for the Red Devils.
