(Video) Warnock says Rashford’s goal vs Everton was correctly disallowed

Marcus Rashford had a goal disallowed at Goodison Park during Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Everton on Sunday night.

After seeing team-mates Antony and Cristiano Ronaldo get on the scoresheet, United fans thought Rashford made it three after breaking through on goal and sending the ball past Jordan Pickford.

Rashford celebrated thinking he had scored his sixth goal of the season in all competitions – only for VAR to intervene and disallow the goal for handball.

Although we think it was harsh, former Liverpool defender turned pundit Stephen Warnock says Rashford’s goal against Everton was correctly ruled out.

The rules state that a goal would have stood had it been scored by someone else in the aftermath of an accidental handball, meaning Rashford could have registered an assist, which really makes no sense.

Surely an accidental handball is an accidental handball – or, in this case, ball to hand?

Warnock seems to ignore the clear confusion surrounding the handball rule.
