Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has tipped Manchester City to win the Premier League “by a street”, despite Arsenal showing promising form in the early stages of the season as they sit top of the table.
It was another good weekend for Mikel Arteta’s side, seeing off Liverpool 3-2 in a competitive match-up at the Emirates. Nobody expected the Scousers to be this bad when the new season kicked off and it has made for great entertainment.
Arsenal, who were already beaten by Manchester United this season, lead City by a point in the Premier League standings. Gary Neville doesn’t think they have what it takes to beat Pep Guardiola’s side in a title race.
“I think it’s really promising because Liverpool came back against them today, Tottenham came back against them last week to make it 1-1, they’ve been challenged in both games against good teams,” Neville told Sky Sports on Sunday, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News.
“Teams that if you’re not right will cause you big problems and I’ve questioned Arsenal’s resilience.
“(But) I have to say the start of the season with recruitment, winning the games they’re now winning – obviously they lost at Old Trafford – but winning against Tottenham, Liverpool, they’re big games for Arsenal.
“I don’t think they’ll win the league. Let’s be clear, Man City will win the league by a street in the end. Arsenal are having to be at full pelt to keep up with them but it’s good signs.”
Stretty News verdict – No stopping Sportswashing City at the moment
Unfortunately, I can’t see any team stopping City from winning a third consecutive Premier League title for the first time in their history.
It’s even more gutting that Manchester United are miles behind them.
City spent Saturday evening top of the Premier League table following their 4-0 defeat of Southampton. I suspect they will be back there soon — all in the name of sportswashing.
Meanwhile, it will be the same old story for Arsenal… just wait for them to implode!
I firmly agree with Nevile,Asernal will not win the tittle this season unless they strengthen their defence n central midfield defensively the team needs more additions ,lets nat be convinced with their current form 4 now, they dont hav the quality of the players their bitter rivals have, say man city, totenham, chelsea, liverpool and man u
